In Battle was
formed in 1996 when Frölén,
Wiklund and Östlund-Sandin of ODHINN
joined forces with Sjödin (aka Mysteriis)
of SETHERIAL.
1996 IN BATTLE recorded a rehearsal tape
containing three songs in a local studio
in Sundsvall. The tape was sent to Napalm
Records Austria and a record deal for two
albums was signed.
In april 1997 the first album "IN BATTLE"
was recorded at Sunlight Studio in Stockholm
Sweden.The album contains twelve extremly
fast and brutal songs (NOT FOR WIMPS).
The response was great and an european tour
was to follow...
Nov-dec 1997 IN BATTLE made their first
public appearance on the "With US Or
Against Us Tour" with SETHERIAL and
MALIGNAT ETERNAL.

Mars 1998 the second album " THE RAGE OF
THE NORTHMEN" was recorded at Ballerina Audio
in Umea Sweden.
Before entering the studio, the IN BATTLE line-up
was reduced due to some personal problems in the
band. Wiklund took over the vocals after Östlund-Sandin
who left the band one week before entering the
studio.
Frölen played all Guitars/Bass guitars on
the album since Sjödin decided to leave the
band after the first album to consentrate on his
main band SETHERIAL
IN BATTLE 2001
The only member left is John Frölen because
Wiklund left the band after the second album.
IN BATTLE 2002
Frölén (guitar and vocals) and Sandin
(drums) start rehersal new material and ask Hans
Karlsson (guitar) from DIABOLICAL to join the
force..
IN BATTLE 2003
In battle first gig in 3 years on the smackrockfestival
in 03-07-28 Timrå (Swe) as one of the headline
bands, with J.O. Sandin on drums, Frölen
guitar,H Karlsson guitar, ( M.Ödling of DIABOLICAL
on session vocals and Victor Brandt of NECROCIDE
on session bas). It was time to take IN BATTLE
to new heigts....after some searching for a drummer
we finally got our hands on Nils "the machine"
Fjellström also in (AEON). IN BATTLE goes
to Necromorbus studio to record a 4 song promo
called "Soul metamorphosis", the result
was good production and sound. In battle is now
signed to ColdRecords, a sublabel to Metalblade
in Europe. The first release on the new label
will be in 2004.
IN BATTLE 2004
The third full lenght album "WELCOME TO THE
BATTLEFIELD" is recorded.
The recording started at COURTHOUSE STUDIO in
Östersund Sweden, where the Drums was recorded
on the 2th and 3rd of February, The Guitars and
Bas was recorded at NECROMORBUS STUDIO in Stockholm
Sweden, between the 19th of February and the 7th
of Mars.
On the 9th of Mars the band got on the plane
to Tampa and MANA RECORDING STUDIOS in the U.S.A.
The Vocals was recorded by engineer SHAWN OHTANI
and the album was mixed and mastered at MANA RECORDING
STUDIOS by producer ERIK RUTAN.
WELCOME TO THE BATTLEFIELD contains 11 songs
of true aggressitivity and boiling adrenaline...and
the production made of famous guitarist of ex
MORBID ANGEL/HATE ETERNAL came out exellent and
fit this album totally...As Rutan said...-"hey
guy´s do you know how good this sounds..?
this is a fucking killer man, I´m proud
to be a part of this album". Erik Rutan did
a awesome job with the sound....every little tone
from the guitars...drums..etc..came out in this
great production...this piece of work is just
something you all got to have....so welcome to
the battlefield.....enjoy your stay...
